Gavel Patches

Our gavel patch is designed for students involved in debate, student government, leadership programs and other academic or school organizations. The traditional gavel shape can be customized with school colors and lettering to create a distinctive varsity-style award.

Choose from the available chenille, embroidery, felt and text colors on the product page to coordinate the finished patch with your school or varsity letterman jacket.

Select the Gavel Patch and choose the available colors and lettering options shown on the product page. The design includes space for personalized text, and shorter wording will generally allow for larger, more readable lettering.

If your lettering does not appear perfectly centered or sized in the online preview, do not worry. We adjust the lettering during setup to create the best possible finished design. If you need a special arrangement or another variation, include your instructions in the comment box during checkout.

If you are ordering the patch with one of our varsity letterman jackets, we can sew it onto the jacket as part of your order.

The size listed for each patch refers approximately to the outside dimensions of the main chenille design. The top felt extends approximately 0.12 inch beyond the chenille, while the bottom felt extends approximately 0.30 inch beyond the top felt, so the finished patch will be larger than the listed chenille size. Designs using an additional felt layer may be slightly larger.

Gavel patches work well on the sleeve, front or back of a varsity letterman jacket depending on the size of the design and the overall jacket layout. Most designs can also be adjusted approximately 15% larger or smaller when requested.

Our gavel patches combine chenille, embroidery and layered felt to create the dimensional appearance traditionally associated with varsity letterman jackets and school awards. Embroidered outlines and lettering help define the shape and personalized details of the design.
